hi folks. bought my 2004 2.0tdi sport second hand and noticed it was down for longlife services.
service also stated timing belt had been done, phoned garage and they confirmed mileage and date of work so i'm assuming its legit.
longlife still has about 11000 miles to go. what would yous do?
go with it or get it serviced by audi or specialist?
will it do harm if i top up with longlife oil if it isn't longliffe stuff in car .
paranoia. don't you just love it.:w00t:

If you can confirm that it has been serviced at the correct times with long life oil there is no need to replace the oil early. So I would just top it up with 507 oil and leave it until the next service.

thanks.
didn't think at the time to check it was longlife.if everything else checked out i suppose it'll be safe to risk it

Hello,

My 2.0 TDI A3, 53 plate, it was serviced a few months ago by Audi. They told me that it was longlife oil and that I could only get it from them! Is this true? Is there an easy way to tell if it is long life oil and is it bad to mix?

I have noticed this morning that it needs topping up, so I need to buy some.

Cheers

No its not true http://www.halfords.com/webapp/wcs/..._productId_210681_langId_-1_categoryId_165581. You can use any oil that conforms to VW 507 00 spec.

Thanks for you reply, I will go an buy some at lunch time. I did not see that they could be the only distributers of an oil, when they dont produce oils.

Many thanks
