Brake Pad Warning Light (NO DIS)

Hi All

I feel like a bit of an intruder owning a B6 A4, but the mrs does have an A3 so...

Does anyone know if a 2004/54 2.0TDi SE (so no DIS) still shows the brake pad warning light ?

It has started to make a slight grinding noise under braking, but I don't know if it would show the warning without the driver info display.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Not sure if all the 8P A3s have wear indicators, I'm guessing they would. The problem is that one pad can wear quicker that the other and if its the outer pad, it wont set off the warning. Its not a big job to remove the wheel and check the wear on the pads. If worn low enough to grind then they need changed immediately or you will ruin your disc.

Sorry not exactly A3 but I had a B7 2005 A4 without DIS - this did activate a warning when brakes were worn.
