I bought my cable, which is a MicroCAN type, direct from Ross-Tech in the US. The total cost in March 2008 was £129.00 + £42.45 shipping.

The shipping was by Fed-Ex and was very quick. I placed the order over the internet on Sunday and the cable arrived first thing on Tuesday morning, and that's from the US!!

I also had to pay £25.90 in tax and VAT through Fed-Ex so the total cost was £197.35 so it may be worth checking the current prices on the Ross-Tech website - www.Ross-Tech.com

What is the difference between the MicroCAN cable and the HEX-COM+CAN cable??

I've had a look to see if my car is compatiable with the MicroCAN and it says it will work with A3 8P 2004 onwards.
Now, my car is an A3 8P, but is a Dec 2003.. 53 plate.
Will it still work with my car??

For info, my car is a 2.0 FSi.

Micro-Can interface is compatible only with cars based on Mk.5 Golf technology.

That is my point..... it says 2004+ Audi A3 8P chassis, and mine is a 2003 (December) 8P chassis.
Will it still work on my car?

I think the 8P came out in Mid 2003, so have they got the date slightly wrong and assumed the earliest 8P is a 2004, or is it that the first half a year of 8P's are different to the 2004 onwards models??

2004MY will have started actually in mid 2003. So you should be fine.
