    Remapped non quattro a3

hi there has anybody got there A3 2.0tfsi tuned to around 260bhp?
I want to know what the torque steer is like and how it copes with putting the extra 50-60bhp down with out quattro.

    Many thanks

i would really like to see what people have to say about torque steer too. i see a lot of people tuning their front wheel drive cars to over 240 and surely the torque steer must be bad!

i really want mine tuned but most have it to there quattro a3s. I think it might be like my old type r with 197bhp with no traction control. The front end was all over the place in vtec, and in the wet was no point your front ended up going side ways and jumping all over the place to find grip.

    I wouldnt be worried about a measley 260bhp :P

your car will be awesome with 260bhp and with a decent suspension set up!

do not be scared of torque steer!

My MK5 Golf Gti was running 250bhp with REVO and was surprisingly good in the dry, although when you dial in some lock or add rain to the equation, it did get a bit lairy.

I would absolutely recommend it, just use the throttle sensibly at lower speeds and its brilliant, especially at Motorway speeds when torque steer doesnt apply anyway.

Not sure how this translates in the A3 20T chassis though.

Why not visit your local REVO dealer and get a free 5hr trial?

    Cheers

Vagcheck? Not sure about that mate.

REVOcarl is a member here, he should be able to help.
Or just give them a call direct, very helpful in my experience.
Their website gives a list of all UK agents which is pretty comprehensive too.

    cheers

i have a 2.0tdi fwd dsg running about 240hp and 360lb/ft or so

torque steer is present but not bad at all considering - it can tug on full acceleration on bends but doesnt understeer unless provoked, but you can get the back end out with a touch of brakes on a tight bend which i love

, but you do have to be very careful in the rain, frost etc but ps2 tyres help a lot, as does the suspension mods which include:

negative camber front -1.75deg, caster 8deg rear neutral toe, rear -1.0 negative camber, lowered 30mm from se, koni dampers, neuspeed 25mm front plus rear AR bars,
    steering assist 2, 235/40/18 ps2 tyres
    TT-RS 410hp revo
