    There are 2 appraoches.

    1) Autotech internals

    2) APR full exchange unit

I can't make up my mind if the Autotech one seems like a great long term solution. From a cost perspective it seems a clear winner, but then I don't really fancy having my fuel pump pulled apart. Yes it should be easy, but if anything gets refitted in a less than perfect way (set up/dirt ingress) it could end up being expensive.

I've had a few warranty issues to get cleared up and have waited to see the outcome of others efforts, but neither systems have reported many issues as yet, so can only assume both options are safe enough.

I've always been surprised what an expensive mod this is, but then I guess you could say the same of remap 'code'!

I'm getting Autotech fitted next week.
I've spoken to Shaun at AmD and Carl at Revo about this - the issues with Autotech have been fully resolved for some time.
But as warrencox says - you want someone VERY experienced and highly skilled to do this job for you. That's why I'm off to AmD myself ....

You should see Carl's car - it's fantastic. Very nicely specced motor. If ever you are near Daventry (Northampton), its worth popping by to Revo HQ for a look.

Don't blame you for wanting a proper job done. My closest decent independent is Dialynx, but I'm not so sure this kind of job will be Keith's bag. JBS can do it, but its a hell of a trek, but I like using the guys at Awesome GTi in Manchester, so it may be a trip up there for an APR one. At least you can get 100+ back if you exchange rather than buy it outright.

I had mine fitted by AMD a few weeks ago.

It smoothed out the midrange and removed the hesitation it seemed to have in that area, but unfortunately, since changing to Stage 2+ there's been a persistent misfire at 6300rpm which isn't plugs or coilpacks and this has reminded me to give Shaun a ring.

I have to add that Shaun was extremely helpful in trying to get rid of the problem and AMD offer a level of service that many main dealers would do well to look at.

I hope all goes well for you,and you enjoy the results!

I have the APR. For me it was a piece of mind thing as i read a lot a of things about the Autotech that put me off. If they have resolved the issues then that's good. My concern would be that the first test of the Autotech after assembly is when its on your car whereas the APRs are a all fully tested at the factory. After reading details of what pump failure could cause it wasn't a risk i wanted to take just to save 400. Saying that more people have the Autotechs and i haven't read of any serious probs on UK cars - so the decision is yours

JKM are really good for the APR - some interesting info on their site as well

i'm pretty certain this refers to the cams in the standard 2.0T FSI in the MK5 GTI etc, which are different to the ones in the S3/ED30/Cupra

My advice is go for APR, cause you preserve your original pump as it is and later you can eassily exchange back, Im very very satisfied with the APR pump and APR stg2+ map, it has resolved all the issues Iv been having without the pump.

    @ S3-N
do you maybe have a pic with your CH"s cause im planning on going the same way... tnx

I agree, keeping my original pump was another reason I went APR.

I only have crap phone pics of the CHs at the moment, been meaning to get some decent ones.

The thread below holds the pics that made me want them - Warning, clicking on it could be expensive

Anyone got an S3 Like GTI Int with BBS CH 19's On?
