I've just had the loan of an A4 with sat nav in - are the factory fit sat navs the same in the A4 as in the A3 ?

One of the major plus points for me was in the DIS the instructions are repeated, simple turn left / right, straight on commands etc. Very handy as the standard fit location seems to low down to me !
IS the DIS capable of doing this if I retrofitted RNS-E to my S3 ?

I believe the A3 and A4 are different units.

Whether they work in exactly the same way, I'm afraid I don't know.

The same unit bar the surround.


Yes DIS is capable on your S3.


There are plenty of experts on here to help you out! (me not being one of the!).


Also plenty of info already on the forums so give the search facility a go

Cool thanks for that - did try a search but didnt find the answer !

Is there a way to get the RNS-E to do a full 7 digit post code search - it does seem a bit limited if cant do this while a £100 tom tom can

Full postcode isn't supported by ANY Audi sat-navs sadly.

mmm that is a bit annoying - I was quite impressed with it, but not enough sadly to justify paying ebay retrofit prices for one.
Oh well I will stick to my Tom Tom

Ebay prices are generally a lot cheaper than official Audi prices! Its so easy to fit yourself its untrue!! full digit postcode isnt supported but it isnt the end of the world !
