Hey all, Just wanted to know what you guys and girls do with your climat control?
Ever since ive had my a3 I find myself turning on climat control once started the car and turning it off before turning engine off is this just me?

I take it it would be ok just to leave it on auto all the time?

Know its only silly little thing just wanted to know what you people do?

Well.... Mine is on 18 to 20 most of the time. AC is off unless the car is steaming up (like with 4 people in). Don't want any of my horses wasted on the AC! If i switch the car off it remembers i don't want the AC on next time. So in answer to your question you can just leave it on auto with your preferred settings!
 
I tend to leave my air con running all the time. I've heard from various air con specialists that you're far less likely to get problems with the air con going wrong if it's left on all the time, even low, than if you only turn it on sometimes. Plus the better quality of air makes driving a lot more comfortable I find.
 
I take it to turn it off you just press Econ?

Auto 22 as heard similar advice that best to leave running all the time, besides windscreen never mists up then!
 
I leave it on at about 20 or 21. Think the manual says 22 is ideal for any day, but I find it's a bit warm for me.
 
i've got mine on 21 (sometimes wack it up to 24 if its really cold out to warm me up for a bit) with auto, econ and auto recirc... don't use the aircon too much in the winter.
 
18-20... otherwise I'll just fall asleep :lazy:
 
18-22 depending on the weather. Auto always on.

Hate it when the GF changes temp on her side so we are not sync'd. My OCD goes into overdrive!
 
i like my windows open for the breeze

so i have my window all the way down and the climate control on HI

i find it a nice balance

my gf likes to be insanely toasty when in the car - the duel climate control is a god sent, although i always feel sorry for it when i'm on 18 and shes on 25+
 
I dont think your meant to have the dual climate set with anymore than about 3 degrees difference between them

It only effects the air coming out of the vents on each side. In such a small space the overall temperature inside the car is going to even out very quickly.

One point to consider with air-con is that the main user of energy is the compressor when cold air is being asked for by the system. When no air air is be requested an electronic clutch disengages the compressor and the pulley on the end just spins free, not really using any energy.

Personally I leave mine on all the time set to around 19-21 with the auto-recycle button pressed.
 
When you press the ECON, is it ok for the Auto light to be on?

I tend to press the - button so the Auto light comes off, then press ECON to be completely sure or does it not matter...

The climate control wont function at these low temps so it disables itself.

Yeh I believe its fine to have the auto button on. I think it just auto adjusts the direction of the airflow for you to keep the cabin all one temperature.

I have mine set to econ, auto and about 21.
 
I have mine set on 19!

Does anyone know how to adjust the climate control setup so that when you adjust the drivers side temperature it also adjusts the temperature on the passenger side? Mine used to do this but after adjusting the passenger side temperature they both work independantly of each other now. It has bothered me for quite a while :D

Press and hold auto for about 3 seconds... You will see the unit sync to the drivers temp!
 
????? strange thread this but i keep checking it weird heh i put it on max and my seets on max once burning turn down to 25 both side seat to 3
