iv got a 2009 A3 with climatic air con, iv seen a climate control on ebay. how easy would it be to fit it? i saw 2day that climatic uses like cables to change the direction of the air. will this cause hassles.

No. My air con has the turn dials for temp and direction. Actual climate control is digital and gives an LCD temp eg 28oC
I'm pretty sure they are completely different systems.
Never seen an A3 with the old fashioned knobs, thought they all had dual zone climate as standard!?

I really wouldn't bother. One system is mechanical the other is electronic. It will be massively complicated to upgrade, and if you were that bothered you should have spec'd it from new!
