Garage screwed up my RNS-E, what to do?

I had my a3 given a longlife service the other week & the garage have been unable to reset the service reminder on the display. Despite selecting longlife service on their computer, it just resets the service interval to 0 days overdue.

I'm due to take it back next week to get them to finally fix it, but have now discovered they've somehow ******** up the rns-e config. It's noticeably less bassy & I've now got the DSP option in the sound menu to indicate it's not setup for BOSE any more.

Is there some way they could of reset this by wiping the settings when trying to reset the service interval? Is it worth me just saying sod it & taking it to a dealership to reset correctly, if so how much do you think they'd charge ?

All the modules in the car, store their own code settings, so there is no way they could adjust the service settings and end up recoding your rnse. Sounds like they've been fiddling around.

Dealers are normally crap recoding the RNSe. Where about's are you? I'm sure one of the members on here vith VCDS would be willing to help out.

Cheers guys. Yes, they should sort it out, but they obviously don't have the equipment. They don't have proper vagcom just a device they plug into the can bus, all looked pretty basic.

I've decided to take it to someone who knows what they're doing (hazzydayz) who did an excellent job on coding my rns-e before. All looks good now & I'm going to get a mfsw fitted next week as well

Word of warning, if getting longlife service, take it to a specialist with the right equipment!

TBH, I wouldnt be doing a long life service in the first instance. Its not very good for the engine, to have the same oil in there for 20k, regardless of what audi say.

Not being funny but they must have the right tools to turn of the Bose anyway, so just go back & get them to re-enable it, simple, if they have vcds then they can easily turn it back on.
