A3 Glove compartment Problem

Wonder if anyone has a solution for this?

When I open my A3 glove compartment, it used to come down slowly. But now it just come down quickly giving it a cheap feel. Can I fix this myself?? Please help.

I was gonna say I swear I already replied to this, common issue but that would be because its a ***** weak part, easily fixed in my post on other thread
 
Glad i read this, mine just flips down. Always been like that so i never knew it should be any other way! :) I also dont have a glove box light! I'll have to investigate!!
 
Hi if you remove the plastic cover at the end of the dash board (left handside) you will see the glove box damper you might be lucky and find that the small plastic pin that holds it to the glovebox lid has fallen out if not then you will find that the lid its self is broken and needs to be replaced I would advise that you also replace the damper as this is the cause of the broken lid.
