trading in 3.0 tdi s-line avant for 08 s3

hi folks been looking at a 08 plate s3 at my local stealers thing about px my 3.0tdi avant which has 286 ponies, has there been a major probs with the new s3 before i commit thanks aldo286

Just remember there are two new S3s, pre-facelift and facelift, the pre facelift suffers a bit more depreciation and has a higher tax band than the new S3.

TBH, the S3's are fairly bullet proof.

Not owning one but looking at the posts in this part of the forum suggests that the fuel pump seems to be a bit of a prob but TBH, if its 2008, you shouldn't need to worry about a thing as it will be under warranty.

I hope to get a S3 in a 1 and a half to 2 years and I have been vaguely looking into them on the net, a few forums and reviews from parkers and others but there's nothing that would put me off one!

I wouldnt worry about a thing and go get a S3 and enjoy it

So Aldo whats the score with the A4 3.0 tdi avant, supposed to be a great engine, comments as thinking of this as next project car.

not a thing nhn it has been a great car i would say the best i have owned the engine is a dream it has never missed a beat its done 59000 but it drives and looks like 19000 and it has gave a lot of cars a fright dont need such a big car now as the family are all up and have there own cars now , so its time for me and the wife to get something a bit smaller , i was going to post it on here for sale as the car is a1 to good to trade in as its been mapped has the rs4 arb on it and the 6 speed short shift on it from the states it is one hell of a car but thats life

I'm pretty sure they're both in the same tax band.

There used to be a saving as the new S3 (facelift) had lower emissions, something has changed because the only saving you make is now from 2010 April.
