I am assuming you have an 8P A3 2.0t and have upgraded it to a K04 turbo?

If the above is true the first place I would be looking if your car is not boosting is the diverter valve.

Without wishing to be rude, embraking on these kind of projects is more than a little risky without a diagnostic tool of some description.

You will need to have a look at a few things which you really are going to need VAG-COM or similar for.

Perhaps update your profile with location and see if you can't find somone local to you with the tool.

I think you would need to remove the diverter valve and have a good look at it.

If the diaphragm has split it leads to a reduction in turbo boost pressure.
The diaphragm / piston sometimes break away from the solenoid shaft itself. This renders the valve inoperable.

As Stu has already wisely said, you really need to have access to VAG-COM when doing this kind of stuff.

just a little update on symptoms.
i have checked the dv that is fine no rips in the rubber i have driven the car again and to me this is what happens. if i put my foot down in 1st gear it will boost up change into second it will kick in but not much then will completely die off through 3rd 4th 5th and 6th. i have also noticed if i wind the car up slow it will boost better in 2nd gear then i will take my foot off the pedal and the car will jolt forward then the revs will drop could it just need a custom remap on a rolling road or do i hae to fit the s3 injectors and so on will this sort the problem???

Are you sure it doesnt have any leaks anywhere cause if you whack it down & it dies then you do progressively it seems to be ok initially maybe split pipe which opens up only on the higher pressures, thinking aloud here of course as to me its not an impossible thing to happen, shouldnt need injectors changing or custom map until you know for sure whats causing these issues 1st, get vagcom on it & see whats it throwing or diagnostics, Stu is fairly wise on vagcom, I'm sure he'll be able to advise more (hope he doesnt mind me saying anyway)

when you say you had someone come out to remap the car did they not notice that it wasn't boosting?

you need to get vagcom hooked up and monitor the wategate duty cycle and see if the engine management is opening the wastegate to dump the boost as its not liking something its not seeing.

When you say you have fitted a new turbo who did it for you? or did you do it yourself?

As above, the first thing you want to be looking at is the wastegate duty cycle and this will give you an indication of how much boost is being produced.
