Its nice to have the forum back up and running. I feel quite lonely without it!!

Ye I Kno. What was the problem if you don't mind me asking.

David

I've never used a forum that has as much downtime as this one!

And you support Rangers, hows that for ***** and pish, weedgiee

Aye. ***** and pish for a club that have won more major trophies than any club in the world. Also hold the world record for having the most domestic titles. ***** and pish right enough. We have a club history that most other clubs can only dream of.

S3 envy? If I wanted an S3 I would have bought one. If you want to throw money down the toilet on an overpriced A3 be my guest. The S3 image is diabolical. Wouldn't be got dead in one. 1.4TFSi is the informed choice for those of us who live in a fuel inflated and environmentally endangered world but still enjoy driving.

In my opinion S3-Talk IS ***** and pish. Just an opinion. This forum is much more useful.

On a serious note what does S3-talk offer over this forum? I haven't been on there

It's just an alternative place to visit Matt, there's quite a few familier people over there.

I know this isn't a football site but football fans will just laugh at a statement like that. "The most domestic titles". What - in Scotland !? In a league consisting of only two teams who are both desperate to join the Premiership to get away from the farce which is the SPL ?!
Scotland isn't a country where you can take football at all seriously. You're good at whisky I'll give you that - but football ?! Come on ...

:applaus: A-Men brother! What was he thinking :tocktock:

Bit of a bold and untrue statement though they have had some success in the past. That said, I'd like to believe that Rangers & Celtic could mix it with most of the English premier league teams ok. It was fun to watch Celtic scalp a few of the big boys a few years ago. If nothing else I believe if they played south, it would make them better teams playing at a higher level more often.

Apologies for adding to the off-topicness (?!?) of the thread here....

Celtic and Rangers could not compete with most of the EPL teams on a weekly basis.
All very easy for them to raise their game against the likes of Man U once every other year, or whatever, but there's just no way they could do it on a weekly basis.
As a lifelong Aberdeen supporter, I have to agree with the English posters.
The SPL is *****.
Utter *****.
For chrisssakes, the best player in the SPL at the moment is Pedro Mendes, a guy dumped by Tottenham and Portsmouth!
Nakamura consistently gets 'bigged up' as something special by Celtic fans, yet he's going back to the J-league???
Why???
Because no-one else wants him, that's why!
Would he go back to the J-league if anyone in the EPL wanted him?
Would he feck.

Rangers and Celtic could, theoretically, start to compete with the rest of the EPL once they started reaping the benefit of EPL money, but as with the likes of Wigan/Hull etc, it would take them a while.
Even then though, they have geography against them.
Newcastle have shown, time and time again, that this works against you.
They have had to pay OTT wages just to get players to go there.
Celtic and Rangers would have the same problem.
They'd have to pay more than the competition, just to make up for the geographical disadvantage of living in Glasgow, compared with London/Manchester.

It's a moot point though, it's never going to happen.
So they should just shut up and delight in the fact they only have to fight each other for a CL place every year, not a whole league.

:whistle2:

Rangers have won a world record 51 league titles and have won more major trophies than any other football club in the world.
This is a fact. Complaining about the SPL does not change facts.

A record crowd of 118,567 gathered in January 1939 for a league match with Celtic. This remains the record attendance for a League match in Britain and is one of highest in Europe for a domestic league fixture. There are currently plans underway for a redevelopment of Ibrox stadium which will result in Ibrox being rebuilt as a 70,000 seated stadium - which will make it the second largest club football stadium in Britain after Old Trafford.

We have one of the richest histories in world football. Comparing us with the likes of Wigan etc is unfair and unjustified.

You cannot argue with the facts.

I know nothing about football, but even I can see that's a little mis-representative - seems to me that they are very good in scottish football leagues :applaus:
