RantRantRant - Tyre Fitters Ruined 3 of my RS4 Wheels !!!

I'm soo peeeee'd

Managed to get 3 nails in 3 of my wheels and the normal place i go to (Dave Sheldons, Manchester) was closed or they've moved.

So, thought I'd try this garage I always pass on the way home...

He was an Old Polish Guy (speaks little engligh) serving me and he seemed nice enough and he said dont worry, Well looks after you (My 4R£$)

1st try - Front Passenger side wheel - He left the arm too low and it's curbed it all the way round!!! It had 2 1 Inch kerbing marks but now it looks a mess!!

2nd Try - Rear Passenger Wheel - He left the arm too low on the part in between the spokes and then realised and raised it. Now...have around 3inches of kerbing on that wheel. This was a mint wheel!

3rd Try -The front drivers side - The got the arm high enough but the spokes stick out around 2mm and he's caught 3 of them!! That was a mint wheel too!!

Now..i have a set of ruined rs4s...They're only 7 months old!

I was soo pee'd off and the fact that he sent me to the back really annoyed me..lesson learnt...stay with the guy.

I seen the wheels and lost it and had a massive go at the guy!! He attempted to rub the marks away with his finger and a bit of spit but obviously, that wasnt going to do nothing!

In the end, i didnt pay and ripped it off. The guy tried stopping me by standing behind the car but i werent having none of it!

Just got my 345mm brakes on too and all looks a mess now...

Apart from WRC, are there any good refurbishment centres in Manchester or Liverpool where i can get my wheels done to a decent standard untill i change them next summer!!

My mate in worsley could do them for £40 but thats still £120 which i could have done with...

I was fuming but i just got off bail for twating a guy that was being racist...

I wanted to kill the guy but after all the court trips i had to make, time off uni, etc. etc. I just thought F-it...its more of a reason to get new wheels in summer!

If you didnt pay did you not save more money on tyres than it will to fix them up ;-)

If your only just off bail, get someone else to help out

i will sort him out , i would of gone to trading standards they will make him pay for new set of wheels , he shouldnt be working if this is how he does his job

could be others who have gone to him with same thing .

i would be so mad , i know what i would of done with my 6inch heels

hope you get it sorted i wouldnt let him get away with it .
 
I will rarely touch a wheel over 16" nowadays & never anything less than 45 profile, its just worth the risk. The side was is so small & tight it bends the arm down onto the wheel and there seems to be a fashion for the spokes to sit out furher than the rim nowadays.

I once did the same thing a few years ago but we paid £35 for it to get refurbished for the guy. This should have been offered to you without asking. What I find amazing that he continued doing it after marking the 1st wheel!!

The newer machines operate in a different way and have an extra "helping" arm to help combat this.

kaz219 mate sorry to hear about this...you should really go back there he just more a less wrecked your alloys. I dont see why he tried standing in front of the car d*ck...I work in customer service business if some thing like this happened we offer a solution who the customer be happy. The d*ck should of offered. Obviously dont know how to do his job.
Normaly i probably would of said knock the tw*t out lol as i have arguer problems lol...Or issues my mum likes to call it lmao. Says i need to calm down. Not even worth it mate and you just got off bail 100% not.
Go back speak normal and see if he willing to fix them if not trading standards. Keep us updated.

What do mean he sent you to the back?

I always watch them whenever I have a tyre replaced and always say to them that rim is in perfect condition I expect it back the same. If you damage it; you replace it. Not refurb - replace.

Assume you didn't watch him damage them one by one? I might have got him to stop after the 1st and had words. Guess you didn't see it happen?

Regardless of bail or not, you have a clear cut case, go back tell him you want them fixed regardless of the tyre fitting freebie, if he refuses then call up the old bill & say he's damaged my wheels can you do anything about it, also trading standards & small claims court, you got fecked by the system for twatting a racist so now use that same system to get your lawful right resolved, god what have you got to be afraid of the law for, on this occasion in the eyes of the law you are right, personally if it was a racist you were also right but unfortunately thats the law, an asse on many occassions, lol.
 
I had my alloys damaged on a previous car by a tyre fitter.

They then denied they did the damage and that it must of been there before. Twats.

I'm dreading getting new tyres on the A3, not sure who I can trust to do it!
 
I'd look for a place that specialises in selling alloys, they will have the proper machine that protects the rim & spokes.

^^^^ I agree. As I've understood this, you've driven off without paying? Chances are that this guy has taken your plate and reported you. I can understand why you've driven off without paying but it won't look good for you if he's called the police.
 
where does he say he had 3 new tyres? surely didnt he just have 3 puncture repairs?
 
Thats exactly what I thought mate, all he had done were punctures as I read anyway.
 
I thought it was 3 puncure repairs, were the tyres repairable? Have you any pictures of the damage? Is it the actual wheel or just the laquor?

Right Guys..

Spoke to my uncle who happens to be a friend of the guy who owns the place.

He popped in on the way to work (as im in Liv now) and spoke to him.

The Polish tyre fitter admitted it and the best the manager could do was give 10% off any tyres..

Luckily, my uncle needed some tyres for his vectra which he put an order in for. They were £300 and he managed to get £40 off (which he's going to give to me). He said i can have the puncture repairs for free.

So £76 i will have gained.

Apparently, the polish guy is the owners cousin and he's helping him out. He was new there.

My mate said he can refurb my wheels for £35 a wheel.

As one was kerbed already (and i was going to get it refurbed anyway after the winter), I think I've not done too bad. I'll be able to get the 2 refurbed and to get the third one refurbed will cost me £29 which could have cost me £35 normally.

But for now, got to drive on kerbed wheels....

All in all, its not as bad as it were and I'm glad I drove off rather than stood there and given the guy abuse....(And maybe twatted him as i really was that ****** off!)

I was on bail for assault and that was a right headache and the fear of having a criminal record would ruin al my chances of getting the job i want. That was dropped in the end...

But the thought of goin through all that again..i just had to walk away or in this case..drive!

Its not worked out too bad..I;ve saved £6 in a way but then, my uncle could have pribably pushed for a discount on the tyres he bought.

Ah well...least i got something out of it with an apology!

was on bail

and it was 3 puncture repairs!

If i got 3 new free tyres, I would have been :happy: as its round £70 a corner for the tyres i have! That would have more than made up it for it!
