    3.0 TDI TDV

What are these TDV versions all about?

Just been looking at A4's on piston heads and seeing quite a few 3.0 TDI TDV's?

What is the difference between these and the normal TDI and more importantly, which is better?

    thanks

not sure why they call it TDV, other than its a TD V6, they are all quattro and should go pretty well !

they are 233bhp standard and revo remap to 277bhp so with a nice haldex controller you could get the big girl a bit sideyways

you could, or you could go for the 330d and go a lot sideways ! The A3 & A4 are completly different cars, but the A4 is getting cheaper by the day

I paid 17600 for may A3 this time last year, I might try and get a PX price for it and see how much i've lost. I think i'd better take a box of tissues with me as i'm sure i'm going to cry.

the 3.0 tdi a4 is a lovely engine & map it to your delight, I actually would love one of these in an avant as my S4 was, plenty of room, comfortable & would be fair mpg aswell, probably same as my a3 mapped.

Might have a look now as they are dirt cheap these days & well worth the money aswell, nice B7 would be good.

Oh also TDV I think is the A4 version of the A3 DPF I think its emissions related Total Diesel Vehicle I read ages ago.

But the most important question is what is better?

    A normal TDI

    OR

    A TDI TDV?

I am not fussed on the interior of the A4 I much prefer my A3 dash with the pod like air vents - straight, boring looking air vents on the A4

Think you will find they have "real" quattro and no Haldex...

Neither except maybe the green credentials, dont think tax bracket changes, but maybe it also has a minimal effect on mpg.

go and get a candy white Leon FR tdi, get custom code to map it with the DPF bypass and theres 220bhp, it'll be a better drive than the A4 but might struggle to put the power down. Oh don't forget a set of black CH's !

I guess its depends on your version of a better drive cause the Leon is 2wd, where as the a4 has all 4 feet squarely routed, to me maybe in looks the a4 loses out but in terms of power & overall drive I'd say a4 would be better, but then again others may like the battle to put it down & the wheel spinny

A leon wouldnt interest me, may as well go for a 170dpf A3 and do the same

As far as the quattro comment goes - I dont know much about it
