dim headlights on a3

got a 05 plate a3 and the headlights are so dim i might aswell not put them on i changed the bulbs and put some bosh xenon bulbs in the seem to have made more of a whiter light but there still dim. my old v reg a3 had much brighter headlights along with a mondeo we have at home

are the 8p headlights dull or is it me tripping if anyone has any idea how to solve would be most greatfull

I also found my 05 headlights poor.
I changed the bulbs too (Phillips first, then Halfords own)
On their own, not much difference, as the beam pattern is the problem.
Far too sharp a cut off on dip.
It seriously hampered night-time driving.
Open the bonnet and you'll see these white 'discs' on top of the headlights.
These control the height.
I just raised the beam until I was happy.
I didn't get flashed by oncoming traffic afterwards either.
