Is it possible to replace a dead screen on a RNS-E Unit?

If so how much would it cost and how easy is it to do?

Cheers.

seen them for sale on ebay so it must be possible, you may want to contact (MarcQuinlivan) on here as he has stripped down a rns-e and seems very knowledgable on the subject and im sure he has a link to a site that shows you step by step how to .

There are some for sale on Navplus.us for 199 Euro.

Your sure its the screen and not the ribbon cable that connects the screen and the main unit?

Talk to Rabbit on navplus.us, he sells replacement screens, as for taking apart, yeah simple enough, I was just typing what Isaac said, lol, yeah check ribbon as not often screens just go like that.

IIRC the same screen is used for Vauxhall/Opel Vectras, and these apparently work out a little bit cheaper. Do a search on http://www.navplus.us - I'm pretty sure it was detailed on there.

Hi,

Cheers for the replies everyone.

If it was just the ribbon can this be replaced on its own? if so what do they cost?

Cheers

What we're saying is it has probably come loose so check under the screen.

Sometimes the ribbons can break down on older units. I have a spare one in my garage I think......
