On my wife's A3 cab she has Xenons and we dont seem to be able to get the headlamp wash to operate. I know on my TT you need to wash with the H/Lights on for 5 seconds, but can not see anything to say how exactly they work on the A3

Can anyone enlighten or is this going to be a warranty repair?

It'd be warranty anyway I guess.
My car is exactly the same as Mitch's, pull the screen wash for a couple of seconds whilst the headlights are on and the headlights get a blast of water.

Do you recon they actually do a good job of cleaning??

Tehy get rid of grime, not much else really.
I do notice a difference if I'm driving at night on wet roads - you know the sort of weather where all the cr@p on the motorway is getting thrown up. But then it's just washing off wet dirt, not stuff that has bonded to the lights.

Don't they only wash the lights every 5 washes or so... its not every squirt is it?

I wish i didn't have them. They make a mess of your nice clean paintwork if you just want to blast some bugs off your windscreen in the dry

Thanks guys for your help. Problem now resolved. It would help IF Audi had put a 30a fuse in the fusebox for the washers. :detective2:

Headlight washers are probably the most pointless feature on my car.

Funny you should say that, the 30amp fuse was also left out of my A3 Cabrio.
