Oil Filter Removal

Alright Guys!

Does anyone know where to get the tool that removes the oil filter cover?

I have removed it before by using a hammer and screwdriver lol but this is quite brutal and would like to have the proper tool

Boydie, you can buy a special tool from VAG parts. It is called an "Oil Filter Removal Tool" part number 3417, and is listed at GBP 13.95. This tool is placed on top of the oil filter top cover, and then one uses a normal spanner to loosen it. Hope this helps. :happy:
 
Sorry I don't know. I suspect you can buy the gadget from Audi directly, but the only one I have seen advertised is from VAG parts. Best call Audi to enquire its availability and price. Cheers.
 
yeah they do - I bought one from the Audi dealers - Parklands in Gloucester about 4 months ago.
 
There only is one dealer in northern ireland and he said - "we do not sell tools"
 
oh :( can see why they do that - monopolies commision would love to hear it!!

can you not just go down there with the part number and ask him to order it.

will do. In the meantime - you could try phoning a mainland Audi dealer and asking them?!? Parklands: 01452 415000
 
Ridgeway Audi in Newbury is very helpful too: 01635 510000

Just don't bother with Bristol - they're as useful as a chocolate teapot!!
