Earlier I thought I would test the car's alarm to see what it was like and is it me or is the standard alarm absolutely pathetic! I would've thought someone's phone was going off, if I wasn't stood next to the car!

This has been covered in earlier posts but the noise that the alarm on the A3 or any other new car can make is covered by Auduble Motor Vehicle Alarms Bill. The relevant section reads " may not at any time emit a noise exceeding 55 decibels.
This Bill was introduced as part of EU Regulations to limit the noise made by car alarms because of the nuisance factor because so many alarms are set off either accidentally or in error.
