A3 doors foam??

Hi,

Just wondered if any one else out there has foam inbetween there door and front arch like these pictures, seems a bit strange to me, as i've never noticed it on any other cars i've had, they have always had the metal going across from the arch.

makes it look as if they havent took all the transport packaging out!

Yeah I have it on mine too I think. I was working on my brother's GTI last week and noticed it on it too. I think it is probably something to do with soundproofing the engine bay to keep the engine and road noise out of the cabin.
