So I'm driving along an A road at 70-ish today and the Glow Plug light starts flashing and I lose a lot of power. I limp to the nearest service station which was luckily only 1/2 mile away. Stopped the car and read the manual. It said I should have the car serviced immediatly.

Then I turned the car back on and no more problems. Weird.

The car has only done 10.5k, 170 tdi, and I plugged my blufin in and it did not give any fault code.

Any ideas any one? I don't even know what Glow Plugs are for once the car is moving?

Cheers

coil pack lights? Do diesels have coilpacks? Is it the glow plugs you mean? Strange nothing has been logged on the ecu.

Diesels don't have coil packs as they don't use a spark to ignite the fuel unlike petrol engines.

i didn't know you can use the blufin dongle to read fault codes!
