    how do
    Just had my windows tinted.
the fronts let 50% light through and the rears let 35% of light through.

at times it doesn't look dark at all but then other times its really dark

let me know what you think, and what else i should do?

    comments welcome

    cheers

Were you up a tree for the first pic?

Looks smart mate, tints really set the car off!

As for things to do, you though about wheels and lowering. New rear lights, otics grille, not that I'm trying to bankrupt you!

Just had my mate over who bought my old Dolphin Grey A3 and his car looks just like yours. He has his tinted too - I think he has 30% all round.

Some new rear lights and a Lamin-X kit and you'll be sorted. Oh and lowering too maybe.

i got pulled over the second day of having them and i wasnt alowed to put them down because theres a drying time but when i got pulled i quickly put all the windows down taking the risk. The police never clocked on so i got away with the tints still in place. The tints were fine after pulling up the windows to which i was happy about.

    That's not true.

You're allowed nothing on the windscreen, but can have up to 30% tint (70% of light transferrence) on the front side windows.

The problem is, most newer cars come with semi-timnted front windows anyway. In my Astra it actually said in the corner of the glass "Pilkington X934936" (random code) then "70% light transfer min".

well, he was either wrong, or was basing that comment on the fact that most front windows are already tinted.

Motor vehicles first used before 1 April 1985 must allow at least 70% of light to be transmitted through them.

Motor vehicles first used on or after 1 April 1985. The light transmitted through the widscreen must be at least 75%. The front side windows must allow at least 70% of light to be transmitted though them
