Ordered some 50mm H+R springs and 10mm spacers for the back from DPM the other week, fast delivery and great service, thanks Damian.

Got the car booked into PSI Tuning who are a VAG specialist in Stoke. Was quoted £125 inc wheel alignment plus vat for the job.

The work was carried out to a very satisfying standard as allways by the PSI crew, allways trusted them guys with all my previous cars, and im a very fussy ****** when it comes to letting somone loose on my pride and joy, as im sure all of us here are.

The lads at PSI were very impressed at how the car sat after installing the springs. They took the car for a test run and came back and reported that the car felt VERY good with the new H+R's on. They usually deal with Eibach but I think they are starting to filter thru H+R stuff now. They ran the car around for a bit, then did the wheel alignment. Another test drive and they were very impressed with how the car sat, how if handled and even better, how the car felt on the road.

My impression of the H+R springs are it feels MUCH better now with the new springs on than the stock rock hard springs. The H+R's feel more comfy, less roll, and the stance for me is perfect. Also running 10mm rear spacers. All in all, im 100% happy and pleasently surprised at how comfy the ride is. I was expecting it to be a bit more harsh, but like ive said, theres more ride comfort now than before!! No rubbing issues at all and ive had 1 passenger in the front and the back.

This 1st pic below is a before pic the night before it was due to be slammed, the 2nd pic is a after shot.

looking very good mike, think i am gonna have to invest in a set of these :)

Looks good mate.

Wolfbane - I see you have the H&R springs and Swaybars - how are you finding that set up? I'm getting this fitted in the next few weeks, just intrigued!
How do you find it behaves cruising on the motorway and on bumpy roads etc?

My set up works great, and the swaybars makes wonder. Also the dogbone insert feels good, engine doesent move so much under axeleration.A bit bumpyer than before in the city.On motorways its super, and bumpy roads isent any problem. You will love it when you have it

Looking forward to it even more now.... sounds good!
Cars bumpy through town driving anyway, so can live with that.

looks nice something i was planning on doing how much did the springs and spacers cost in total? and have you changed the shocks aswell or just springs? cheers

very nice was just about to ask how much were the springs too!!

Very nice. I have the springs in my garage, just need them fitted now, lol. Can't wait now though, that sits beautifully.

prices are on DPM website, http://www.dpmperformance.co.uk/

just running on springs with standard shocks. just took 2 mates out tonight and without me even saying anything they commented at how much comfier it seemed to be with the new springs on.

got a few bits arriving next week too. Black optic grill, S3 Pedals, possibly ordering facelift rear lights.

Hi Mike, Didnt take long then did it? I remember you saying "I'm not going to mod this one, leaving it as it is, map maybe in the future" lol
Cars looking really good mate, think i might go the same way. My old bones are taking a right bashing with the ride on mine.
You know i really liked what you done with your Golf so i'm wondering what this will look like in a few months time.

Thats looks sweeeeeeet :D

I really like the colour, and those wheels!!

 We all knew it would happen!!

Ive resisted quite a while for me though. It's been standard since I got it in Feb 2007, so for me ive not done *that* bad I guess?! :uhm:

Like said before, got a few little touches to be done, awaiting for the parts to arrive, but still cant decided if the facelift rear lights will suit or not? hmm. :banghead:

Looks well Mikey, I was looking at the H&R 35mm but after looking at yours it looks good, be interedted on the ride with astandard shocks. Where are you from? I would be interested in a run out sometime if you dont mind

I live in Manchester. Your welcome to come and see what you think if your ever in the area.

Dooogh! I was in manchester yesterday having a run out on motorbike and fitting nathans new SB rear lights. Which side of manchester, I will let you know when I am there again

looks nice mate, is it me or is £125 really cheap for the fitting doesn't seem like it's worth getting your hands dirty and doing it yourself.

Mark

was £125 plus vat, so it works out at appx £146, includes the wheel geo too. Its certainly not a job that I could undertake lets put it that way.

looks really good, shame you can only get 35mm drop for Quattro models.

Incase you hadn't noticed mate this is an old thread, but I can vouch for the Eibach's. They give a nice drop and improve the ride.
