Letter to the Honcho

:w00t:
Liz Luckett?
She's only a vowel change away from being a porn star.

It must be something to do with Audi customer care, I had some issues with my last S3 and was dealing we a lady called Lucy Swallows

Maybe that is the only thing they might be good at... costumer service usually sucks!! ahahah Just kidding!

Pedro

Or even the bloke telling you how to press the electric window button.....

Yeah, I mean... what the hell is all that about.. isnt it Penny Mallorie with him too... acting all dumb?

If its trevor nelson dont bother lol.
Yeah, how little of a car can you actually show in an ad for it... Oh I know... drive it in London at 2 in the morning in the dark! :eiertritt:

lol, I've just Sky +'d the S3 program on at 3pm :whistle2:

HAHAH, oh well. In fact the only other S3 program on that channel is the 3 out of 5 stars that the 'Which? report' gives it. :blahblah1:

You can see Penny getting ****** listening to things like "And this is the volume button on the stereo, it makes the sound go up and down" ROFL. At the end she always says "Just give me the keys i want to have a play" In her head she's saying "STFU NUB. JUST GIMME THE FKUCKIN KEYS SOCK COOKER"

Only just read this thread because i've been offline all weekend (moved house)...

I sent a very polite e-mail to Jeremy Hicks over a month ago regarding the release of the A5 S-Line. I got the standard reply from Liz Luckett telling me that my query had been passed on to another department who would contact me directly.... Guess what? Still waiting!!

All i asked is whether or not we are getting the S-Line in the UK. I need to know as it will affect the purchase of my new car etc etc.
Anyway, still no response so i'm thinking balls to it i'll take my business elsewhere (335i). It seems Audi don't think customers deserve to be in posession of all the facts before handing over the thick end of £40K for a car. Beyond belief really.

Hope your issue is resolved quickly Leon. There's no excuse for such dog sh*t customer services from a 'premium' brand like Audi.

Good luck.

Paul.

Well Paul.... without being offensive! It seems pretty obvious that the A5 will have an S-Line model!!!!

A3 has one, A4 has (or will have one), A6 has one, A8 has one...... You still have doubts about it?

Niche models like TT, R8 might not have a clear S-Line but all others will have it...

I think your question would have made more sense if it was... when is the S-model due to launch... no if!!

Anyway... get the Beamer it will drive and go like hell!!

Pedro

An easy conclusion to make, but you can buy an s-line TT in Europe which you can't get in the UK.
A5 has been around a while now and there is no sign yet of an s-line.
Marketing decide such things and as the A5 is a sporty coupe straight out of the box, the UK marketing guys may want to keep the difference between the A5 and S5 more apparant....

Nice one leon!

Think i will go down the same route with Bristol Audi who have now had my car for 5 weeks (tomorrow) and still not got it sorted!

Their Customer service is non existant..... cant even return phone calls or keep me updated arrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrgh!!! they even vet their calls!!! whats that all about???

Thank god for the local independant guy in Bradford on Avon.

Never liked using that main dealer even when car was under warranty.

Fair enough mate... and not being funny at all.

But what can't you spec? the S-Line Badge? I mean is there a specific bodykit that is unavailable here? Or any other pretty specific things we can't spec on the TT that is...

Pedro

The S-Line model which includes the bumpers, grille and other S-Line bits cannot be ordered in the UK. It is available in all other european markets, just not the UK.

The reason appears to be that the 3.0TDI S-Line would be priced too close to the S5. The general view is that they don't want to have it compete with the flagship model.

I know you're not been funny mate :beerchug: - was just saying in the UK the marketing guys often decide to not give us all the toys we'd sometimes like. My view, if a customer wnats to spend the money, let them!!!

Usually s-line's are just bodykit, interior tweaks and lower springs aren't they???

Yeah... Don't understand why there isn't an S-Line for the TT if it is readily available in other markets! I actually think UK you be the best market!!!

God knows who is running the show here... probably someone who can't handle a speed bump!!

Pedro

I think it is a bad marketing call....

For the sake of selling 30 TT-S they don't sell maybe 100 S-Line?

I think there might be an S-Line in the TT range next year or so.... They are just letting the TT-S sink in..... also production probably would not be enough for demand...

Pedro

Pedro...As others have said it's basically a bad marketing call by Audi and in my opinion they have mis-judged the UK market with the A5 range....
For the current UK market, spot the odd one out: 3.0TDI S-Line, S5, RS5. It's obviously the S5. With current petrol prices the TDI S-Line would sell shed loads to those looking for that S5 look with a bit of economy and lower running costs (and with a map it's faster than the S5, Audi must know this). For those who have the money to blow they're going to totally by-pass the S5 and wait for the RS5 anyway.
So basically Audi make a bad decision, do no market research whatsoever and we paying for it.
S-Line TDI models killed the S4 and S6 in the UK market and Audi obviously think the same will happen with the A5.
So i haven't made anything worse at all by writing to Jeremy Hicks, i simply asked the question....Will i be able to buy an A5 S-Line in the UK? Seeing as it's available in mainland europe and Ireland. I explained that i was only willing to delay my next car purchase for so long then i would have to look at other options as i won't buy a sport model only to see an S-Line drive past in 6 months time!! (in a more polite well written tone obviously).
Anyway, still nothing has been confirmed or denied either way and the dealers don't have a clue either. Am i going to blindly spend 35-40K on a car purchase i'm unsure about? No!
I think the 3 series is due a facelift soon so i'll contact the dealers and hopefully find out when that is.

Which one of you mofos took my thread into a complete new direction! WHO!!!!:nyah:

P.S. Nobody has got in touch yet. Going to wait till te Honcho is back on Wednesday then try again.. :sadlike:

Oh my god, I thought you were taking the p1ss and it couldn't really have been that bad, but it was just that guy demonstrating the window buttons etc...did you know you can operate both the drivers AND the passengers windows from the drivers side...wow!!

What an absolute waste of time. Can't believe they didn't drive it!!!!!

Yes sorry to hijack your thread Leon... Just airing my displeasure at Audi's general customer relations here in the UK!

Audi customers = 'Mushrooms'.

LOL!! We certainly are treated like mushrooms - Audi probably think of us as a major annoyance - I mean, why can't we just buy a car and never complain if it goes wrong.

Has anyone had to write to the MD of any other car manufacturer with problems before?

Bacardi i just find it gobsmacking that no dealers or anyone who works for Audi has any clue if an S-Line model will be released in the UK which every other market in the world had on the day of launch!! And they expect you to shut up, kiss the hallowed 4 rings and spend up to £40K on a sport model no questions asked.
Had they just come out and given a definite YES or NO i would have either bought a sport or waited for the S-Line respectively. However because i have no clue i'm not touching an A5 with a barge pole.
I was 50/50 between the A5 and 3 series coupe but Audi have made my mind up for me!

Totally agree, If they are worried about product canabalisation they haven't developed their roadmap very well!

I've never had to contact any other car manufacturers head office over problems with a car or dealer support before, i'd be interested to know if anyone else who is experiencing problems with their Audi have had to contact head offices of other car manufacturers

i have just resently had to contact the big man! been sent nice emails saying it will be sorted bla bla bla but that was the same as what dealer said. i have been so stressed the last couple of months because of Audi

I didn't bother going any further than the dealer, TBH.
Not because they solved any problems, because they didn't, but because they sucked the will out of me and I gave up on the car, and Audi.
As long as it started in the morning and took me into work to peruse replacement cars, it became 'enough'.

feel the same at the moment bowfer.
considering gettingrid after its all sorted

LOL! Mine's being used by neighbours/friends/family as the car to take stuff to the tip, dumped the old washing machine the other day, didn't put anything in the back to protect the car either - not a mark on the interior, at least one part is ****** well built

it does seem to have gone off on a tangent this thread but I think when I started reading it there was an issue with the buckets.

I had a TT-S with buckets in as the car Audi gave me today whilst my beloved was in. The bolster on the drivers seat was battered. Creased to ****. The car only had 2000 miles on it, but you could see the strain on it already.

if your asking me Mitch, the seats werent mine... was an Audi Sales guys car.

I purchased my vehicle from the same dealership and whilst i know the salesman via the gym the service i received on a whole was that bad i will never go there again.

If you want to pm me about my experience (not as severe as yours) it may strengthen your case or create a picture of a dealership who doesnt care.

Get trading standards invloved as they will contact Audi straight away on your behalf.

Also dont be scared of calling them everyday and making threats to go to the press etc. All these tactics work in day to day life, Mr nice guy gets you nowhere.

Good luck.
