    In case anyone was interested...
    Had my car dyno'ed today...
    It's a stock Australian spec (188kW) 8P S3; 98RON fuel...
    Very consistent across the 3 runs I did, peaked at 167.4kW

    So your car is producing less than stock figures?

    What did the other S3s make?

    no, the stock figure is at the crank.
    it's only losing 11% in the drivetrain.

    the other s3s were chipped.
    giac (310map) produced 182kw atw, mtm 174

    Is the Australian car less as standard than the UK car? 188kw is only 252hp

    182kw is 244hp
    174kw is 233hp
    167kw is 224hp

    Here are the 3 S3 plots, scaled and superimposed...

    Green = Stock
    Red = MTM
    Blue = GIAC + BMC CAI

    Same dyno, same day, different cars though. Figures are as measured at all 4 wheels.

    And yes, the stock Australian S3 is (ECU) de-tuned.

    Only 11% transmission losses? For four wheel drive, as a general rule it's always over 20% loss.

    exactly... thats got me confused; but my other 2 runs were almost identical
    so its either a bad dyno (most other people that day were getting what they were expecting from what i gather) or the s3 is underspecced.

    I think thats one of the reasons what makes the MKV Haldex better , Awesome GTI told last week between 18-20% losses!

    Sounds perfect for the 188kw spec. My S3 pushed 167 kw on the wheels on the dyno. Car is stock. At that specific dyno the stock S3's pushed in a range from 153 kw (car had only 100km on the odo) to my 167 kw.

    p.s : I am in South Africa.
