a local dealer tells me that there will be model year changes released next week....any ideas what they will be ?

It will probably be the facelift version to bring the rest of the A3 range inline with the new cabriolet. So just the lights and front end revisions, everything else looks the same, I guess there will also be a few interior tweeks and I think think the DIs has turned white.
Steve, seems that you are right about the front..not sure about the back or the interior yet. Facelifted models will be from week 22 build apparently

The facelift is just totally uninspiring. Fairy lights up front and saggy 'slot' shaped lights at the back. Re-located s-line badge looks out of place on the wing as well. All in all.... i'd pass and wait for the all new model.
