quick s3 turbo question

Hey guys,

Quick question...

From about 3000rpm there is a fairly loud almost sucking kinda rumbling funny kind of sound all the way till about 5000rpm. It's not an easy sound to describe. Is that normal? What is it?

Sounds normal, might be the turbo spooling or the sound of air being drawn into the airbox. It's more noticeable after a remap too.
 
HI,

I am in South Africa in Jhb aswell.
100% normal.

When I got my S3 last year June, I also wondered about the noise. Confirmed with all the other S3 owners in the Audi club SA that it is normal.
