Hi, my car has recently begun to suffer an intermittant engine problem whereby it suddenly feel like the engine has cut out completely or gone to 3 cylinders or such. The engine doesn't stall, but as you can imagine it's a bit of a problem if overtaking at the time. After a few seconds it will generally pull cleanly again. It almost feels like on a motorbike when the tank used to run onto reserve and you had to switch the fuel tap over.
Is this a known problem for these engines or are there any common things like a blocked fuel filter that can be checked simply without suffering a walletectomy by my local Audi dealer?
