Hi, I have an 2004 A3 2.0 tdi sport. Just wondering when it is likely to need a cambelt change (milage) and for those who have already had this done with audi, how much they had to pay? Are there any other future problems I have to look forward to?

Thanks

60k. Get the whole shebang done while you're at it. Get the tensioners, rollers and waterpump changed at the same time, it doesn't add much to the bill, but will cost a fortune if they fail after the cambelt change as much of the labour is the same. The front end of the car is removed to gain access to the cambelt, and it will need to be removed again if the waterpump fails, so for the sake of £30, get it changed at the same time.

i asked about this before i purchased my 170 tdi dsg.

i think they said about £600 ish.

I would never let a car go beyond 5 years / 50k miles for a cambelt change. Just not worth the risk.

my mate has started his own buisness in huddersfield, west yorkshire.
he is vw trained for 10 years, half the price of the dealers and gen VW parts ?

I just got a 60k service but specialist said to change cambelt at 80k
