hi wonder if any of you guys know whether the flat bottom sterring wheel of a new tt will be a direct fit (and electrical plugs for airbags and mfsw) for a 8p a3 (non mfsw) cheers guys

If you scroll down on the forum you'll see a thread by N8KOW regarding this topic (flat bottom steering wheel)... There's all the info you need there...but yes it does fit the A3 depending on if you've got DSG etc etc

Mine is a DSG, and I already had a MFSW so yes it was a direct fit. Although I had to buy a connector to enable the MF to work. The S3 comes with the FBMFSW so theres no reason why it shouldn't work in the A3. You need VAG com though to code some errors!
