So...
spec'ing up my A3 S-Line...

Standard "Concert" Radio - Free
Symphony II - £265
Bose Speakers - £440
iPod - £175

Are they worth bothering with?

Why not get the free concert II+, save yourself £265, buy an RNS-E from ebay for less than £500 and have DVD navigation, dont waste your money on the symphony II unless you don't want NAV & mp3 slots and do want a 6 CD player.

I guess, a simple question...
What does the Symphony give my in return for £265? Does it do anything extra?

I've got an iPod that I would like to use.
I've got a TomTom 910 that I would like to use, unless the Audi Satnav is fantastic?

Is the Bose speaker upgrade worth £440? Is it any louder? clearer?

Does any of it make any difference for resale?

My advice - stick with TomTom. I got the Symphony radio with the built in cd player (6 discs)- I reckoned it was better value than having the separate CD box option.

The Dension is the best ipod adapter by far. I am saving £400 by not buying the Bose and getting my local Audio dealer to install a better system for the same money.

Totally agree with this statement, I've got the iPod adaptor with the Symphony II and Bose and the iPod dock interface is a crock of $h1t. Wish I'd gone :

a) SatNav + 6 disc changer

OR

b) Symphony II + Dension + Standalone Nav
