Hi People

Just wondering what peoples experiences has been with different oil's its for a 2.0 TDI Audi A3.

Whats the best and whats the worst????? is there a better oil for winter months????

Also, how regularly should the oil be checked in the engine.????

Thanks

Basically any oil that meets VW specification VW507 00. Quite a number do but check on the container. There is no need to use any different oil in winter than in the summer.

Personally I use Castrol Edge 5w-30 which I tend to buy in a 4 litre can from Halfords. Shell Helix Ultra VX 5w-30 is another one which meets the spec.

Apparently Motul is the best money can buy.

I got a shock when my oil warning light came on going up the A1. Guess I'm not used to diesels and their oil consumption! I was glad of the 1L can from Audi in the boot but a little concerned after the whole experience.

How much oil should/do they get through?

cheeers Dave, but how often do you check your oil?

Whenever I wash the car, usually now about once every two weeks.

hi guys, thanks for your previous input, Much Apreciated!

another question...

can someone please tell me whats the best type of oil to put into the engine?

is it....5w-30???

has anyone tried any different type of oil to maybe increase performance???

between AMSOIL and MOSUL, who would you say is better quality product???
