Hi people, this might have been asked before but I cant find it anywhere so...my car is coming up for 4 years old (jan) and has only done 21k,my question is ref DSG oil change,the service book and the dealer tells me its due a change @ 40k however I do very little milage so that would be about another 3 years time(if i still have it) is there a time scale to change it or will it be ok to leave till 40k? I would rather have it done early to prevent any problems with the box as the car is out of warranty but when asking the dealer they looked at me like I was mad ???:icon_thumright:

I live very close to my work and its a commercial dealership-truck drivers are not very carefull when moving about so I walk to work most days-the car goes on runs weekends as I have family up north but its basically just used weekends thats how I do little milage. I do about 4-5k a year maybe 6?:icon_thumright:
Well if you do decide to get it done the delaer will most likely charge you the princely sum of £180 for the priviledge. Parts £80 Labour £100.

I think it depends on how long you plan to keep it as to wether you opt to have it done early. I you are keeping it another couple of years I'd get it done for peace of mind but negotiate a good price by phoning around various dealers asking for an introductory discount - or get a quote from a VW dealership as they will be cheaper and familiar with the box.
I wish I could find a specialist that could do it??? Audi tell me that it has to be done on the complicator as they run it up and check levels at diff temps etc???
