Had a nice surprise from audi!!! i phoned stoke audi to ask there oppinion on the stone chips on the front bumper of my a3, as the laquer is peeling off from around the stone chips, i thought i,d see if they would do anything about it (deep down i thought they would say, Not covered under warranty sir!!) but they said they would collect it and take a look, which they did and the an assesor came to look from audi and said no bother we will paint the whole bumper for you free of charge and supply you with a courtesy o7 a3 sline to ride around in for two weeks!!! :hubbahubba:
Which was a nice change for once!!!!

Holy mackerel! What a result, is this a common thing dealers do or were you tad lucky?

goodness me - i thought you were going to ask a silly question if stone chips were covered under warrenty lol

This wont be usual policy i just think its the fact that Audi had a problem with Missano red which flakes anyway as far as I know.

I would imagine its because he has laquer peeling on the bumper, i think a normal stone chipped car wouldnt stand a chance under warranty! (wish it would though as mine needs doing! :) )

Mate of mine found problems with the paint on his 7 year old Merc convertible (one of the little girly ones).
They sent up a paint specialist just last week.
No argument,complete respray.

Its def the Miasano Red as I have now had mine repainted 3 times by Audi, first time they did a poor paint match hence the second repaint, and more recently after a further 15k miles I had the front redone as it has peeled again. It would appear that the paint gets chipped and then starts to flake. The last time the paint shop returned the car on a low loader and managed to scratch two wheels strapping it down so as a goodwill gesture they reapainted both wheels plus a 3rd that had a mark. Hats off to Huntingdon Audi for showing real customer service.

Another flaky Misano owner here too...;)

I've had the front bumper resprayed 3 times on mine, originally stone chips turned into bubbling and flaking, the first repair was a bad colour match and very 'orange peely', the second attempt had the primer 'bleeding' through the top coat after a day, third time lucky as they say... :)

well im hoping that i wont have to have it done again, it looks good at the moment so fingers crossed!!! i have a friend who has another missano sportback and her paint laquer is bubbling a little, perhaps i should tell her to get it done under warranty too!!! its amazing what you can find out on these forums!!
