If you negate to have the dsg oil changed and 40k miles could/would it damage or affect the driveshaft?

Also do all service records go on to one Audi Data base or is it all specific to each dealer/ dealer network?

One would never elect to not have an oil change if it was recommended by the manufacturer. That would indeed be taking a risk. Audi maintains records of each service on its own central data base, accessible to all Audi dealers world wide. So, if you elect to have your Audi serviced by an independent garage, these details will not be recorded.
