Been offered a factory order S3 for £1075 discount today by one of the local Audi garages that I have been dealing with.

Has anyone managed to get a better deal than this recently out of interest?

The good bit is they ordered one in my colour two months back to take up their quota and I haven't missed the chance to add options, so if I confirm quickly I can have it pronto.

I am not tied to having this car, and they have said they don't mind ordering me one from scratch with a ten week wait.

Someone else got a good deal from jamjar.com (beleive it or not)

I checked it out - they are giving nearly 2.5k off the list price of the basic car.

I'd say its worth looking at their website before you commit!

I think most folks on here never managed a discount, or got Bose or something thrown in at the dealers at best.

When I went there before I couldn't see it listed but yes you are right £2,500.

That's gonna make the audi dealer cry when I tell them, whether they match it or not.

I assume that JamJar are pretty kosher?

£32.5k - that is above list is it not? Considering it doesn't even have the bucket seats....

Also, I wonder if that car has already been registered yet?

I'd go to jamjar and save 2.5k (albeit wait a few months)!!!

It's not above the list!

You can easily spec it to this price without putting the bucket seats in.

Bit sceptical about the claim of £2.5k saving.

Every broker I have approached so far that has advertised similar savings has then said "er sorry, it's a mistake on the website, we can't offer that much discount, but we might be able to give you a couple of hundred quid off".

Agreed. I had the same experience. In the end got £1k off my car through the dealer.

ROTR for that spec is £31,440, before any discounts....... suppose if someone was desparate and couldn't wait they'd go for it and pay the extra £1k (not me).

I'm gonna give jamjar a call on Monday to check the discount out, as it is a fair whack off the car (enough to get me thinking about one?)...... or do I wait to see the new A5 in the flesh........

It seems on this thread the discount has been confirmed and delivery dates agreed from jamjar for this lucky devil: http://www.audi-sport.net/vb/showthread.php?t=35930

He's saved approx £2,300 on his specced S3 :o.k:

M8, you have personally saved me an extra 700 on top of the discount I havd already negotiated, by pointing me back to jamjar.

I had looked on there previously and not spotted the S3, gave the dealer the new price and he has met me half way between his original discount and what Jamjar could do, plus other incentives.

Very happy indeed, thank you. :arco:

Thats excellent! It was me who ordered from JamJar, just out of interest, have you got a delivery date yet?

jamjar have had some very bad press for delivery dates in the past.... ie. the car never arriving... they were on Watchdog.

Hopefully they have sorted the supply issues.

I hope so too - thankfully my company will extend the lease on my current car for as long as I need. Even so, Id like the car before christmas!

I can't believe that only a few hours after making that comment - JamCar called - Apparently my car has been delayed.
Until December 28th.
Unbelievable.
Needless to say I have cancelled my order.

Just goes to show, if it sounds too good to be true, it probably is.

JamJam claim that Audi have made their quota of S3s for now. Sounds like BS to me. Its more likely that they cannot source the car, and have given me a distant delivery date in the hope that I will cancel. Which I have. Dammit.:banghead:

Fek!!! So you actually wouldn't get the car for Christmas then!

Do the smart thing and see if a dealer will match the price though....

The car is down for build week 19 and was already ordered by my dealer in December. I can basically add anything I want to the order and as soon as I plonk a deposit down, its build week will be brought forward slightly (don't mind if it doesn't really).

Only problem is my finance firm tried to shaft me yesterday and am having to quickly find somewhere else who do a PCP without actually supplying the car.

I dont use PCP but balanced payments. Bottom line is that there is no front loading of interes etc. Ok the final payment figure is not guaranteed, but the car should always be worth approx 10% more than the final baloon minimum.

My finance is with Lombard.

£28,000 Car
Deposit £3,050
37 x £449
Final £13,300

Borrowing less than £25k on this scheme also ensures the car is not tied to the finance. Very important if you want to sell it. ie The car does not show up on HPI, so the buyer and yourself do not have to work out how to pay off the finance before you sell the car.

Chins

Thanks for the PM

Have dropped your mate an email.

Is this where you got the Lombard loan from, as I can't find anything other than straight forward loans on Lombard's website?

Cheers M8

Yes.

Most dealers frown when you mention Balanced payments as they make very little commision out of it. Most wont do them for under £25k. I saw the light after trying to terminate a couple of agreements early on PCP.

Lombard are not the only ones that do it, but they are one of the best. The only negative I can ever find is that if interest rates changes so does the amount you pay, but that can work 2 ways. Gareth can also help with other schemes if needed.

You probably cant find info on the main Lombard site, its a bit specialist.

Cheers M8

I will await a reply from Gareth.

Thanks
for the info.:icon_thumright:
