    Quattro fluid change

Just got a postcard through my door saying my quattro fluid is due for a change. Is this essential and how much does it cost?

My car is only 14 months old, and not even 4k miles on it yet :o)

I asked the same question here.

    Haldex question ?

Dealer has told me its on distance 20k miles and the answer from here is distance 40k ? I will need to confirm this. Either way i've only just turned 11k so some time to go.

Brake fluid is timed on 2 years btw.

Not sure why they have contacted you ? DSG oil maybe but think that is a longer interval ?

Watch out for those dodgy dealers. I was in the stealers before Xmas and I overheard the service manager convincing a customer to have a cambelt change despite it not required by the service manual and openly admitting this! He said 'we' recommend one anyway...

I tried to warn the customer when the manager left to get some paperwork, but he'd convinced him anyway. They are the 'experts' after all.

An the other hand I had a hell of a job convincing the Seat dealership with my last car the brake fluid change was due every two years... he had to go look it up.

Look in your service book, it specifies all maintenance required outside of 'normal' servicing as well.
