Wheel upgrade

I'm thinking of upgrading my wheels from the standard 17" to some 18" and would like some advice.

Will 18" fit straight on to my car without the need for any other parts ?

I've looked at a couple of tyre websites and what does the "off-set " that is mentioned mean (sorry to be so dumb) ?

Finally does anyone know why you cannot get 225/40/17 when you can get 225/35/17 & 225/45/17 ?

Hi mate,

you will prob need some spacers with the 18" wheels depending on what the off set is!

Im not too clued up on what the off set is though really so im sure one of the other guys can explain that for you!

As for the tyre size, seems to be a bit of an odd size really. Had a quick search on the net and there doesnt seem to be any. Mayb give somewhere a quick call and find out! id personally go for the 225/35/17 though!

Bin thinking along the same kind of lines for mine too, would love some 18's.
