HEAD PROBLEMS IN 2007 MODELS?
Hey, my first post here so take it easy.
Well just order a new A3 SB 2.0 TDI 140, and will be getting it early next year (made the order last week).
My concern is about the overhead cracking and coolant leaking problems.
I've been reading a lot about this problem(together with the vibration dual mass flywheel problem). Both these problems have also been an issue in Spain with many (too many) cases.
My question is, have both these issues been solved yet? Will I have problems with my engine?
I just recently sold my old Golf TDi 1.9 110, and with 225.000 km I have had no engine problems.
Now if Audi has problems with heads on cars as old as weeks, what can I expect after 200.000 km, the perspectives are worrying.
I'd apreciate all the info regarded to this, and how many of you have this engine with no problems?
I think these only affect early 140ps diesels, mines had the recall for the DMF (04 Golf) and the cracking head was a very rare occurance and did'nt warrant a recall
I've only ever heard of this problem affecting very early cars. I suspect a manufacturing defect which was identified and corrected a long time ago.
Thanks for the good hopes, in SEAT, there are a couple of guys with cars two weeks old (oct 2006) that have the symptoms (problematico cold starts etc).
Anyone else know about any later manufacturing dates with these problems?
Are these SEATs using the new 170PS diesel engine perchance?
There have been reports of problems with the glow plugs on some of the 170 engines.
vibration dual mass flywheel problem
What is this problem. My car is a 2006 140tdi and I get alot of vibration and shaking from the car when idle in traffic.
More so when the car is facing down or up a small hill when idle at lights.
The car seems to shake like a earth is happening
Vertigo, there are SEATS with both the 170 hp and the 140 hp, but heard nothing about the 140 so far. My GF has a 1.9 105 Hp Golf IV and has vibrations (noticed before I even knew anything about the Audi's).
beerglass, you are one of 3 cases of 2006 models (out of 35 total cases from 2004-2005 models that I have read). The only other 2006 cases were from cars produced sometime between jan and april 2006.
What date of production does your car have?
yeah it was jan 2006 I think
I got the car in may 2006
What should I be doing? Does the dealer know about these problems.
I have spoken to them before about this and No fault found.
There's lots of info on this forum about this problem, as far as I know, there has been a warranty recall on the Dual mass flywheel problem (DMF) and vibrations.
