Hanging around at work waiting for Audi roadside assist to turn up because my car, an A3 2.0 TDI Sline, is dead.

Got in the ****** thing to go home, turned the key to the heat the diesel up posn, coil light thing went off then everything conked out. No electrical power.

Has anyone else had anything similar happen to them or know what it is?

could be something drained the battery like fan or radio running after. diesels take a LOT of cranking power to turnover so its not unreasonable it will conk out if the battery is not at optimum levels

the connectors to the battery had come loose! pretty simple really, felt a bit embarrassed when the guy turned up and sorted it out.

the car had been in to have it's fuse box secured a few months ago and to do that they would have disconnected the battery. they must have not tightened it enough when it was reconnected. idiots.

On the plus side thank god it was something so simple. It does sound like another case of useless Audi Tech's...
