My POS (work it out,the first word is 'piece'...) has been a bit of a recalcitrant starter for a while.
This morning took the biscuit though.
Turning over and over, then loads of white smoke when it did fire up.
Tres embarrassing.
The wife even phoned me as I drove off, asking if it was alright.

I'm obviously going to put it in,but anyone know what causes it ?
Just for my own curiosity.

Usually water getting into the engine and coming out as steam, caused by headgasket failure, check the header tank for signs of oil and water mixing. Also if its light grey in colour it could possibly be the signs of the turbo being on its way out.

I have noticed a drop in low down power in the car.
I did wonder if there was a lack of compression or a turbo problem.
I'll check the water thing,ta.

If it was a dog,the RSPCA would have taken it off me by now.
'No Fear' do a t-shirt that says "ride it like you stole it"
My version is "drive it like you hate it"
