Service on DIS

What kind of pre-service warning does the DIS give you when the service is almost due ???Days/???miles.

Also to check it yourself do u pull or push the button? with ignition on or off?

The indicator shows Service in XX miles XX days. When the service is due it puts up the word Service! To check yourself you have to pull the right hand side button briefly with the ignition switched on.

Mine came up at 1300 miles. You can manually check by either pulling the right hand whatsit on the dash, or go through the Menu of the DIS.

this might be a dumb question but when the "service!" message comes up does that mean service right now or could you leave it a couple of weeks as I currently have this message up and havent had the chance to call any garages for quotes etc

No, it counts down. So it starts at 1300 miles then increments down in 100 blocks.

You get a 1000 miles after the service now indicator. So depending on your daily commute you should be ok.

eh? You no got a menu? Press the button on the underside of the right hand stalk?

Nope, mine's a 53-plate car and obviously has earlier software. There's no menu for the DIS on mine

There are also other subtle differences, such as the range display doesn't have the little fuel-pump icon to the left of it.
