TDI 140 - 170PS

Does anyone know what the difference in the 170verion of the 2.0TDi is? Is it just the ECU getting a new programme or is it internal?

Just a thought.. Bit miffed i got my 140 now they realise a 170!

It's always the way. I ordered a 115 golf years ago and the week after they changed it to a 130, a few months after a 150 was also brought out.

From what I've heard of the new 170 there's a bit more to it than just ecu but it's far from a new engine. Still uses PD technology but now has piezzo(sp?) injectors & updated ecu. Not very complimentary reports in the wild, i'd be happier with what you've got at the moment.

No, theres a lot of changes, different injection, uprated intercooler/induction system and a few other bits and bobs.

I can't understand why Audi don't release a 170tdi with quattro and dsg. What a car that would be.

It's still got the same camshaft driven pump nozzles though, so it will still rattle like a tractor
