A14, 90mph and BANG, big hole in offside rear door window, a stone must have been thrown up from the other carriageway.

Pain in the bum as Autoglass can't fix it until Tuesday.

Higly unusual, highly inconvenient.

******!!

I find RAC auto windscreens to be considerably quicker than autoglass.
A buddy of mine was driving an Audi 100 on the M1 and somthing was thrown up from the other carriageway. It bounced on the bonnet entered through the windscreen and exited through the passenger side window. Our opinion was that it was a piece of steel plate about the size of a video cassete or a rather large bolt and if someone had been in the passenger seat they would probably be dead, not good.

Autoglass are fixing it tomorrow morning at 8am, it's taking a day to get as it's an unusual item for replacement.

Check the glass out before they fit it. There was a post on here a while back about sub-standard replacement glass being fitted..i'll see if I can find it.

I had y windscreen replaced last week by AA autoglass. Replacement took a couple of days as it's not a stock item.

Fitting was perfect and to make matters better it was a genuine Audi screen they ordered in.
