Hi All, what is the frequency to change the fuel filter on a BKD TDI engine?

Unsure of recomended, but i do mine everytime i service it. 6monthly.
 
TBH 20k would be good, some aren't done for 40k iirc.
 
Ive heard that there are 3 types of filter for this engine - is this correct? if so is the only way of telling which one is installed by opening it up and checking?

There are 2 types, only way to know is undo & temp lift out the old one.
 
Not had an issue thus far myself, its got a lift pump, so pressure is via this, unlike hydraulic systems like say a cmax 04, what a fecker those are lol.
 
ok cool. do you know what size torx bits i need to take the top of the filter off?

Its probably a T30-45, I'd need to check myself, but if you have a kit then I'm sure its included.
