Hi,

Looking at some 19" wheels for my 58 plate S3 3DR. Wheel size is 19 x 8.5J, ET45 with 235/35/19 91Y XL tyres.

Put some research into this but just want to check if they are going to fit, be safe and work ok.

ET45 is within the acceptable range according to specs I've seen online when doing some research. Again the load is lower at 91Y and not 92Y so need to ensure that's ok.

All thoughts and comments welcomed 😀

A 19 x 8J, ET50, with 235/35/19 91Y XL tyres is just about max on the rear of a STD RS3 (a 225/35 being the STD rear tyre) and you're thinking of an 8.5J, ET45, with a 235/35... :readit:

 so the outside edge of your tyre will be sitting 11mm further OUT than on a STD RS3...

Interesting...

CHECK out the MTM RS3 website as they've fitted 8.5J rears

PM with detail sent

GOOD luck

Interesting...

I see so as the ET is different makes the wheel stick out further. Ain't they meant to keep inside the arch?

Interesting in a good or bad way? Haha

Go to the RS3 forum and find the thread: "ET dimensions for the Audi RS3 standard 8.0J wheels and/or the optional 8.5J wheel", it may help...

Et45 is fine, you maybe can go a little lower but may have to stretch the tyre i.e. 215's. I wouldn't go any wider than an 8j wheel and 225/35/19 if I were you, if you do you could be asking for problems.
I run eT44 19 x 8j and 225/35/19, albeit on a sportback with occasional rubbing on speed bumps and loaded down (it's on h&r's)
I also ran them on my old 3Dr S3 and they were fine

Fair enough, so looks like the 8.5j and 235 width is going to be a step too far then. Glad I asked, thanks for the info.

Others are trying the same...

Go see the thread in this same Forum: "New wheels fitted to my S3 Sportback but rubbing..... options?"

If its not too low 225/35/19 will be perfect but if its low then 215/35/19 or choose whatever tyres you want and buy air ride best thing i ever did lol
