Hello everyone

I've been signed up a few week now (already posted in the newbie section) so thought I'd share my S3 with you. Just give it a good clean inside and out and washed the leather seats. Nothing fancy just a wash, dry, polish and wax.

She's a 58 Plate facelift model; with the below which came as extras:

-Xenons
-Electric wing mirrors
-Sat nav
-heated seats
-Rear sensors

And a few other bits as standard. Only had it a week or so and loving it so far. Drinks petrol which I was aware of but I've managed around 325miles to a full tank.

[Figured out the big pictures! *Smug Face*]

And that's it for now..No mods as such planned for now. Have seen a sprint blue with anthracite alloys which looked good so may consider that for the future, and wouldn't mind going lower but we live pretty rural and I think I'd scratch the sh!t out of her.

The brake discs are pretty messy for some reason; they almost look rusty but it's recently passed it's MOT :meeting: May upgrade these in the future..

Thoughts and suggestions?

Thanks.
JW.

Lovely car mate... My car is sprint with anthracite wheels... Goes really well with the sprint blue....

As far as modding goes (Big Breath)

As far as lowering is concerned, you could go Eibach pro kit, front 2 springs to even the arch gap at the front of the car... My personal choice is 25mm H&R springs... Which is about the lowest you can go without coilovers.... There are apex 30mm springs but they've not got a good reputation....

For all round general driving, nothing wrong with a stage 1 remap, takes the car to 300hp+ and the different timing setup and torque levels make it an entirely different beast for such little money....

and maybe a Rs3 style front grill.... Really transforms the front end for the better... Thats about all you need if you dont want massive power and vastly improved handling... Thats when the silly money starts to come in.. After the mentioned above stage... But youd still need to set aside roughly 1k for the above upgrades

Mine is a prefacelift right enough.... Heres an idea with the sprint and anthracite...

P.s i had to create a photobucket account and copy the urls across to get the big pics... Someone might know different but thats my method.... Poor example of a big pic, but i'm on my phone at the moment ha

I think it was your example that I saw with the wheels! :yum:

Thanks for the info, I've been reading into the remap's - Really don't have a clue when it comes to the whole 'increasing power' stuff; I've always wondered how you'd get on selling the car after taking the HP up? And what's the insurance jump like?

The extra Torque would be nice as I'm used to driving a 1.9tdi A3 which had a decent pull low range, the S3 seems to wake up slowly and then kick you up the *** after 3/4000RPM.

Its not as bad as i thought it would be, however i've paid my dues with regards to insurance, so I get pretty cheap quotes nowadays... There are some specialist insurance companies that sponsor the forum that offer decent rates as the specialise in modified cars and understand that we are not all hooligans... (Just most of us) haha...

Might want to set aside money for spacers for your rims too if you lower, they disappear in the arches with the thin track... Mine has wider wheels on it so no need for the spacers ...

Welcome jj, car looks well like the sprint blue not as much as solar orange tho . For a simple cheap upgrade why not do the interior LEDs upgrade, look for t8ups on here he'll sort you out.

You'll soon get the bug for more upgrades I think it's contagious

Should've bought an rs3:D for low down torque:). S3 needs some work to make most out of it. A remap and fuel pump gives much more torque and better acceleration

See what I mean with the solar?! ☺️☺️

I didn't have RS3 monies! :sob: But the S3 is certainly an upgrade to the diesel, and the sound of a petrol engine is soooo much nicer on a cold morning.

think I may look at the stage 1 map, how much are you looking at? And is REVO the way to go?

Your looking at 4-500£ for the remap, but I think pound for pound it's prob the best performance mod totally transforms the car to what it should've been out of the factory.. Have a read through the forum you'll find great info about remaps and the like, where you go for it is your choice but I think revo amd shark are the main ones.

It is a lush colour to be fair, but I loved the sprint blue and there wasn't much choice in the SOLAR colour. I like dolphin grey to.

Lush, I like that.. Most people would say marmite

Lovely looking motor! I really wanted sprint blue when I set out to buy one, but just couldn't find one with the spec I wanted as a sunroof was a deal breaker for me so I settled on Phantom Black.. which is a PITA to keep clean which is so annoying!

In terms of upgrades the best thing you can do for reasonable money is as mentioned above a stage 1 remap. Depending where you are based Rick @ Unicorn (based near Manchester) offers a custom mapping service and will map it to how you want it. He is a sponsor on the forum too and offers the service for a very reasonable price..

Much better against the Sprint Blue.

They do look nice! Do you have any other shots further back?

Rain came out today so thought I'd take the generic 'beading' shot:

Also thought I'd take a shot of the rents new Evogue; lovely car to drive.

Got a few questions for you guys:

1. My AC doesn't seem to be working (well it's definitely not) When you press the button it lights red and immediately goes off. It's never worked in the 2/3 weeks that I've had the car, any ideas?

2. Secondly can anyone recommend any good matts for the S3? The driver's one on mine looks a little worn and I'd like to replace them.

3. Lastly can anyone recommend a good alloy sealant? It doesn't matter how well I clean them they are dirty after the next run..there must be something out there which protects them better.

Thanks,
JW.

Where did you get them done and what sort of condition were they in before you had them done? And if you don't mind me asking, what sort of price did you pay for them?

I'm hoping to have mine done but unsure how they'd look with Ice Silver.

1. Have you scanned with VCDS and are any fault codes showing? I would be doing that first.

2. I like rubber :yum: genuine Audi ones are quite thick and clean up well.

3. Seal my alloys with Chemical Guys Jet SEAL109. Makes the wheels easier to clean. There is probably better but, more expensive coatings like Gtechniq coatings Exterior Coatings // G|Techniq

I haven't no, recently took the car to a garage as the 'Adaptive Headlight' fault light is flashing on the dash but they said they couldn't 'speak' to the car and advised going to the Audi dealership..

May try to get it all checked at once as Audi wanted £70 just to run the codes.. :banghead:

Have a look on the vcds map (link in my signature) we have members on here that will do a vcds scan for you, usually for beer tokens. Its always worth a look. If anyone in your area, just drop them a private message telling them what you looking for. :) x

Got my mate to do them, so it was mates rates, which i saved a fortune!
The condition of the wheels were immaculate, no kerbing at all, that made it a lot easier.
It was a one of colour we mixed up an put flakes through.

That's the next thing on my list is the black edition grill and fog grills looks so much better IMO......

Mine with the standard S3 grill

Nice s3 by the way with good spec

Cheers Dan
