This is not a for sale thread.

Had these multi coloured wheels (SEAT Leon - Draco) in the classifieds, and obviously being the ex display multi coloured things that they are, they're not desirable!

I'm now going to use them as my winter set...but not in these colours!!

So Its time to get my hands dirty.

Started with the orange one today, I now have orange hands....

The rest to follow over about a week i'd have thought...its a bit of a 'beeeeeeep' to flat off the powder coat as it takes a little time to get perfect!

Only on the primer stage a the moment, but hell the 1st one is coming out absolutely mint, not a single paint run or blemish...SO FAR!!

The start..

Nearly all flat...

I'm yet to choose a colour...any ideas? Im thinking perhaps Anthracite or Matte Black?

My cars IBIS WHITE so the ordinary silver paint will look a little boring.

I know they'll be winter wheels but how about.................Ibis white?

I haven't got any pics but I have seen a pic somewhere of a white S3 with white wheels and it looked tidy!

As you can see I have a white one of these already, and not really feeling it to be honest, doesnt look quite right.

The gloss black one looks nice, but in real life the shape of the wheel will be lost i'd have thought.

The matte black one is nice, I quite like it, but do I like it more than Anthracite...? I dont know :keule:

How about matching them to the grey of the front and rear bumper splitter trim?

I've anthracite on mine looks well against Sprint Blue, and would look good against White.

I'd have kept the orange... Sod it, they're winters!

I couldn't do it!

I'd always be looking round to make sure no one was looking when I got
in the damn thing!

Then hide behind oversize aviators when I was in it.

Ok, Anthracite is the chosen colour!

I'll upload some more pictures tomorrow. I'll paint in the morning, and lacquer in the evening!

Wish me luck!

Anthracite all day for, love that colour. Against the ibis I think it's near on perfect

I'am having similar troubles myself at the moment I've bought a set of 17" 5 spoke Audi alloys the ones that look similar to the a4 s line 18" ones for my 2007 brilliant red a3 and can't decide wether to leave them silver or go anthracite any suggestions guys

Thanks

Wow this is satisfying.....

Pre lacquer already looking good! Definitely picked the right colour. Just have to wait for the damn thing to dry so I can Lacquer and get a full gloss going! (hopefully!)

Obviously garage lights not the best, but looking great!

Sped up the whole process with my 'Calor' Gas heater.

Finished it now....fully lacquered, lovely gloss finish.

What do you guys think? I've never actually painted a wheel before..... not bad for a 1st attempt?!!! Just 3 more to go...

Strange to think this wheel was bright flaming orange yesterday!!!

Just shows that things can be done yourself if you put your mind to it! You dont always have to shell out for someone else to do it.

Thank mate!

It should do! I haven't ever see these wheels on an 8P though, only Leons so I'm a little unsure what its going to look like!

Maybe someone with a bit of photoshop skills maybe of some help to plonk these wheels on an ibis S3....? hint hint..
