Interesting ebay auction!

There wouldn't just be a problem letting people into the back seats, they couldn't get into the back seats unless you want them to climb through the boot /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/crazy.gif

Just goes to show what is available at breakers,at a fraction of Audi's new prices.

Mikeclark,if you really want leather for your car, there are loads of companies that will sell you leather seats on an exchange basis.

They send you leather covered seats, you give them your seats and some money.Your seats are then covered in leather and sold to someone else etc.etc.etc.

It's a damned sight cheaper than ordering them from the factory, you can get a greater choice of colour and they look like factory equipment.

My MD did it to his A4 some years ago.
He grudged paying Audi £1500,so he got them done for less than half that, and they looked great.

hhhmmm, i'd be carefull.
Bearing in mind he's also selling spare body parts from the front of a brand new immaculate looking A3 in the same colour as the one with the leather interior.... hmm, Write off! doesn't look like it to me.
A write off on a car that new would have substantial damage.

It could have substantial rear damage,as none of the photos show the rear of the car.

I know what you're implying, but surely no-one would be so daft as to sell parts from a nicked car on ebay !?

you'd be amazed. Ebay is absolutley riddled with fencers.

Look at the other items he's selling/sold, like the nice, easy to remove, sti fog light covers...

my thoughts exactly, there is no way that is a write off, even if the back end is caved in.

You never know.
If it's a quattro, and the shunt in the rear has desroyed the rear diff, pushing the propshaft into the front diff and destroying that too, the gearbox will be affected as well, and that sounds like big cash.

Saying that though, the rear door glass is still intact, and can open and close properly, as is the rear quarter glass. I've asked the seller for a pic of the damage.

Cheers for the replies guys.

Know any good companies that can specialise in fitting a leather interior at a fraction of the £1200 that Audi want?

- Front Seats
- Rear Seats

Any idea if they would include the following?

- Front Door Inserts
- Rear inserts
- Arm Rest

Leather against black matrix fabric might look a bit dodgy. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/lol.gif

Thanks for that Lon. Sent a PM to MikeA2B.

I also like the response from the ebay seller - yet he hasnt pulled the auction yet.

Dont think he was over-chuffed with your query for him /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh_roll.gif Ah well.

My A4 needed £1500+ of work to fix a minor shunt.

In fact, you could barely tell it had been rammed up the derrier at all.
Just some scuffs on the bumper and an out-of-true rear lens.

Perhaps a car doesn't have to look like it's been through a war to be written off.

Got that site Bowfer cheers mate - none of the links work on it so i'll have to wait until i can get to a phone to ring there number and find out if they are still trading.

"Ring 0871 983 7282 for a free quote" but you cant click on anything!

Do correct me if i'm wrong - it may just be my computer that wont let me access the links.

In his defence, when selling stuff you don't have get some stupid questions from some ebayers...

I sold a mobile phone last month,a picture of which I posted with the ad.

I got one idiot e-mail asking what colour it was...

All I asked him for was a picture of the damage, just to put my mind at rest. If he'd come back with a calm, pleasant and un-defensive answer I'd have believed him. This reply is just too defensive, like attack is the best defense scenario. IMHO, he's bent!

Or he's completely sick of being asked the same question day after day...

And the bids go on for the leather seats on the car that has been disposed of....... £76-00

I also tried that Manchester based company:

http://www.autotrimnorthwest.co.uk

Emailed 3 of the 4 contacts after each email kept bouncing back to me with error messages & tried phoning to get no answer / answerphone.

Type 'retrim car seats in leather' into your search engine.
I use Yahoo, and loads came up.
Too many to post the links on here, sorry.

For those who may be remotely interested a scottish company has just quoted me between £950 & £1100 for fully upgrading my interior to all black leather.

They are sending me a sample of there cheapest (at their recommendation for cars) which also happens to be the finest grained and the price includes:

- Front & rear seats
- Front (doors) and rear cladding
- Centre arm rest (front)

Cheers all /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cool.gif
